Spring Sprint is Tomorrow! Saturday May 9th at ARHS

The Day is finally here.  It is not too late to participate.  Come by and sign up! There will be a delicious post-race brunch.  Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at ARHS (parking at ARMS). Hope to see you at the Sprint!


Support ARHS Track & Field at Pub Night on May 12th


Support the Amherst Track and Field team by eating dinner at The Pub in downtown Amherst on Tuesday, May 12! If you let your server know you are supporting the Track team The Pub will generously donate 15% of your check to the Track fund. This is a night to celebrate the Track community AND have a night out! Bring the family, meet some friends! Support Amherst Track and Field!

Help Stamp Out Hunger on May 9th


Here are some easy steps to join the national "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive this Saturday. 
1) put canned unexpired non-perishable food in a bag by your  mailbox Saturday morning
2) your letter carrier will pick it up that day, 
3) it will be delivered to local pantries, including our's! 
The Amherst Survival Center's Food Pantry receives food donations that are collected from the following towns: Amherst, Belchertown, Hadley, Pelham, South Deerfield and Sunderland.

Personal care items are also welcome!


High School Math Night May 20th at 6:30pm


The high school is hosting math night in the Middle School Library on Wednesday, May 20th from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.  This hands-on interactive event will provide a preview of the exciting things students will be doing in math class next year.

Please note this is taking place at the Middle School.  Students, parents and guardians are all welcome to attend.  This is geared to families of students who will be taking Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 2 or Integrated Math 2 Honors next year.  We look forward to seeing you!

The Fort River Yearbook is looking for pictures taken by you! Please take a look through your picture files and see if you can find a few good pictures of class and school events and send them to the yearbook committee.

You can send digital pictures of class and school events to the yearbook in two ways:

1) Forward digital photos to yearbook.fortriver@gmail.com

or

2) Put digital photos on a CD and put it in the PGO mailbox marked for the yearbook (in the Main Office)

The deadline for sending photos to the yearbook is MAY 25. 

We also need a volunteer to take pictures of students and staff who missed picture day. Please contact Liz Larson (liz.fortriver@gmail.com) if you can help out. Thanks!

Annual Spring Chorus Concert on May 26 at 7pm

The Fort River fifth and sixth grade chorus will present our annual spring choral concert on the evening of 
Tuesday, May 26th at 7 pm, at the Amherst Middle School auditorium.

Mike Morris, Assistant Superintendent for the ARPS district, will join us this Friday to talk about the Wildwood School Building Project and how its findings and recommendations will affect our Fort River community. There will also be information on how Fort River families can be involved in the committee process.
