Calling all volunteers!

The Fort River teachers and staff would appreciate your help to get ready for the new school
year and to make each day a great one for every student. There are many different ways to help, from on-going projects to 15-minute activities to being a room parent. Please consider giving your time to our children’s school. You can make a real difference with even a little bit of time.

Thank you!

Amherst Boys and Girls Club

The Amherst Boys and Girls Club will once again be offering an after school program, as well as programs on half days and school break weeks. Snacks are provided daily, and pizza on Fridays. Students in grades 1-12 are accepted. There is a one-time annual fee of $50; payment plans as well as scholarships are offered. There is a membership application form and financial assistance form for each member to complete. Please e-mail amherstbgc@yahoo.com, or drop in at 29A Cottage St to obtain them.

They have just moved to a new location at 29A Cottage St, which is much bigger than the old space and offer a games room with an Xbox One, pool, air hockey, and foosball table, as well as a computer lab and an arts and crafts room. There are also scheduled Clubs such as Writing Club and Cooking Class, run based on the availability of members. The program changes based on the interests of our members, but there is always help with homework and a place to relax and socialize.
