FIELD DAY


FIELD DAY IS COMING!!!!

Field Day is just around the corner on Wednesday, June 5!  Field day will be the same format as last year.  Kids will be assigned to mixed-aged groups led by parents and teachers. Groups will rotate through a series of events focused on working together, promoting school spirit, getting some physical activity, and having fun!!! (Kindy kids will have their own special events from 10-10:45am.)

We will need LOTS of parent volunteers.  You can sign up to run an activity station, be a group leader, run a station just for kindergarten kids, or help with set up or clean up.  To sign up, click here:

EL DIA DE CAMPO ESTÁ VINIENDO!!

El Día de Campo está a la vuelta de la esquina  el miércoles 5 de junio!   El  Día de campo será del mismo formato que el año pasado. Los niños se pueden asignar a grupos mixtos de edad llevado por los padres y maestros.  Los Grupos rotarán a través de una serie de eventos centrados en trabajar juntos, promover el espíritu escolar, conseguir algún tipo de actividad física, y la diversión! (Niños de Kinder  tendrán sus propios eventos especiales de 10-10:45 am.)

Vamos a necesitar un montón de padres voluntarios. Usted puede inscribirse para ejecutar una estación de actividades, ser un líder del grupo, dirigir una estación sólo para los niños de kinder, o ayudar con instalar o limpiar. LOST AND FOUND

The collection of found items are now displayed in Fort River lobby.  Take a look at the pictures and/or come in and go through the clothing rack and the tables. Items remaining after Friday May 24 will be donated to the Amherst Survival Center. The digital pictures can be found Here.

THE ANNUAL STAFF AND TEACHER LUNCHEON

DEADLINE EXTENDED!  Contributions can be sent to the PGO no later than Wednesday, May 15th.  Thank you!
The annual Staff & Teacher Appreciation Luncheon will take place at Amherst Brewing Company on May 22nd. 
Please express your thanks to our amazing staff by making a contribution in their honor.
The PGO needs your help to keep this special tradition going.
Please complete the attached form and send your contribution to the office by Wednesday, May 15.  Thank you!

Every teacher will receive a personalized thank you note from the PGO the day of the luncheon.
If your child and family would like a little note to be included with their thank you gift, please complete one of the tags on the attached page and hand in to the PGO mailbox by May 10. 
You do not need to participate in the fundraiser to send in a note for any teacher or staff member.
Feel free to be creative and make your own note on other paper and it will be delivered on your behalf.

Annual Town Fair on the Amherst Town Common

The annual Town Fair sponsored by the Rotary Club of Amherst is set for May 23 - May 25. The event takes place on the Amherst Town Common.

Hours of operation (games, rides, food) are 
Thurs May 23    3pm-10 pm
Fri May 24        3pm-10pm 
Sat May 25       10am-10pm
This is a most-anticipated community event which many students, families and staff attend each year.

Boy Scouts Troop 500 Open House

Boy Scout Troop 500 Amherst is having an Open House for prospective scouts and their families Tuesday, May 14 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the South Congregational Church, 1066 Southeast Street, Amherst.  Troop 500 has a 50+ year history in Amherst working with school-age boys (grades 6-12).  Troop activities are organized and run by the boys, including weekly meetings, monthly campouts, and projects in the community.  Our Scouts learn practical outdoor skills and develop leadership skills while having a lot of fun.  Troop 500 does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, or sexual preference.  For more information, contact Scoutmaster Peter Crowley at (413) 348-8052.

STARLIGHT'S YOUTH THEATRE

Starlight's Youth Theatre presents Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr., the musical. Show are on May 17that 7:00 pm, May 18th at 2:00 & 7:00 pm, May 19th at 2:00 pm at the Academy of Music, Northampton.
