Join Us for A Curriculum Discussion

Please join Dr. Rhonda Cohen, Director of Teaching and Learning for the district, on Thursday, March 15 at 6:00pm in our library for a discussion about the elementary school curriculum.  Spanish translation will be available.

Childcare will be available.  Please call the Fort River main office at 362-1200 to reserve a space.

Please Remember & Don't Forget!

Have you been meaning to drop books off for the BOOK SWAP?? Books are trickling in and we need a flood! Our students LOVE this event, but it will only be a success with donations of gently used books your children have grown out of.  We are always in need of books for students in 5-6th grade. Appropriate adult books, reference, dictionaries, thesauruses, are always great! This is a great way to clean out dusty book shelves and get books into the hands of eager readers! Please try to drop them off as soon as possible.

As a reminder, the Book Swap will be April 9-13 and is free and open to all students.

Volunteers are needed for sorting, setting up, and working the Swap. Watch for a Please Bring It sign up on this website during the next week or contact Libby Stanforth: bstanforth@comcast.net.  This is a fun event and many hands make light work!

A Thank You from Teri Magner

Art teacher Teri Magner just sent this wonderful note to the PGO and parents, thanking us for helping her out!

"Dear FR PGO,
I am writing to thank you, once again, for your tremendous support of the teachers and programs at Fort River School!  Our dedication to our students and the quality of their programs is maintained and enhanced and appreciated beyond words (this is where I should “draw a picture”) by your support!
I am specifically writing today about the new ART program printer that you generously purchased last week!  Not only did Jenn Green jump right on researching and purchasing a new one when the old printer broke, but Mark Marasco came to the rescue and installed it this week!  There was a very short time for the program to be without this invaluable resource!  It is such an important tool for teaching art today, to have real time visual resources available to students to support their individual creative ideas while in art class!
Thank you again for your enormous support for our school!
Teri Magner"
