Volunteers Urgently Needed

Science Day Bake Sale Coordinator(s) - We are looking for someone to coordinate the Bake Sale before and after the Boston Museum of Science demonstration for students and families on Wednesday, October 10 at 4:30 in the Fort River gym. The proceeds from the bake sale will help defray some of the cost of having the Boston science museum educators come to us. The coordinator would be in charge of setting up the table, arranging for people to sell food (a great way for kids to help!), and cleaning up at the end. School Council Members – Several seats will open this year at the Fort River School Council, a state-mandated elected body of parents and staff that help define the policies and procedures of the school. It meets monthly to work on the development of the budget, develop a school improvement plan, and make recommendations to the principal. If you are interested in running for one of the vacant seats (this is a two-year commitment), please contact Catherine Sanderson (casanderson@amherst.edu).
