4th Grader in Need of Community Support

Bill Chu, a Wildwood fourth grader, is in end stage renal failure and is in need of a kidney transplant. His kidney functions at about 10 percent, and his family is in need transplant-related assistance.

The family has requested help with transportation. The family travels to Boston Children’s Hospital three times a week for dialysis. The average visit for dialysis is 2-3 hours so it is a full day in Boston. If you can help, please contact Tu Chu via email tchu47@hotmail.com or phone at 413-549-1332.

Principal Nick Yaffe previously expressed, “I have personally known this family for more than twenty-five years and have taught two of the older children. The parents’ own story is extraordinary. They could use the support of our community.”

PGO Coffee with Special Guests Assistant Superintendent Michael Morris and Amherst School Committee Chair Katherine Appy on Friday, October 16

Please join us and your friends on Friday, October 16 at 9 am for coffee, donuts, and informative conversation! 

Assistant Superintendent Michael Morris and Amherst School Committee Chair Katherine Appy will discuss the Wildwood School Building Project and take questions.

The next community forums will be on Monday, October 26 in the High School Auditorium. The first will begin at 3:30 PM and the second at 7:00 PM. Two identical sessions will be held.

Monthly coffees will take place on or about the 15th of each month. The dates can be found on the PGO calendar which is on the right side of the blog home page. Some coffees will take place in the evening. There will usually be a presentation for families and specifics will be available on the blog, FB, and Twitter. Your infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are always welcome!

Wildwood Family Dance

This FREE event is this Friday, May 14th from 6-8 pm in the Wildwood Cafeteria.

Attention Future Wildwood Families

For those families who will be moving to Wildwood School next year:

The Wildwood Community Coffees with the Principal will be held on the following days from 8:30-9:30 am in the cafeteria, followed by Visitors Day tours of the building. The coffees and tours will take place on the following dates: April 1st, 16th and 30th and May 14th.

Wildwood Night at the Moan & Dove, Feb 9th.

There will be an informal, fun, get-together for the parents and guardians of ALL children who will be attending Wildwood Elementary next year. We are hoping to spend time getting to know one another in a casual, no-pressure setting. We will meet for drinks, good conversation and laughs at the Moan and Dove on Tuesday February 9th at 7:30 pm. Please spread the word and bring friends. Any questions?
