Fort River Jumpathon - A Great Success!

A note from Dianna Spaulding, Physical Education Teacher:

"Our Jumpathon was a huge success thanks to all the hard work the Fort River students did to raise money for the American Heart Association. We raised $8,331.00 dollars! That is outstanding! Our school will receive a gift certificate for $400.00 for physical education equipment as part of the prize package. Prizes have been ordered but will take almost 4 weeks before they will be delivered. Many thanks to the parent volunteers that helped count money or jumped with their child. Thanks to all who helped donate to this heart-healthy event!"

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

Diana Spaulding is once again coordinating the FR Jumpathon--all students in grades 1-6 will be participating and have the option of fundraising for the American Heart Association.   A few parent volunteers are needed in each time slot to help organize donations, keep track of prizes and count money. All parents are invited to come in and jump with their children!  Click here to sign up online for a volunteer slot.

Febrero 16,17 - SE NECESITAN PADRES VOLUNTARIOS!
Diana Spaulding, una vez más la coordinadora de el Jumpathon FR - todos los estudiantes en los grados 1-6 van a participar y tener la opción de recaudar fondos para la Asociación Americana del Corazón.
Se nesecitan algunos padres voluntarios para ayudar a organizar las donaciones,y para hacer un seguimiento de los premios y conteo de dinero. Todos los padres están invitados a venir y saltar con sus hijos!

Jumpathon Thank You

Our Fort River Jumpathon was a huge success.  The students raised $8,183.25 for the American Heart Association! Many thanks to all the dedicated parent volunteers who helped organize and count the donations.  It was heart-warming to see the parents and staff who came and jumped with the children.  Please continue to encourage your child to establish a healthy lifestyle by including physical activity in their daily lives.  Support the fight against heart attack and stroke.

Our school will receive $400.00 worth of free P.E. equipment for our donations.

Special CONGRATULATIONS to  Mrs. Sautter’s and Ms. Yeh’s classes for each donating $952.00!

Jump-a-Thon Today and Tomorrow (2/11-2/12)

Just a reminder that the Jump-a-thon is taking place today and tomorrow,  February 11th and 12th.  Please check the volunteer sign-up sheet to see which slots are still open if you'd like to volunteer to help out.

Jump-a-thon Volunteers Still Needed!

As you know, the Fort River Jump-a-thon, Jump Rope for Heart, will take place next week on February 11th and 12th.  The Phys Ed teacher, Diana Spaulding, still needs 1 to 2 volunteers per class to help with student supervision and to organize/tally the donation envelopes.  So far we have NO VOLUNTEERS. Please consider helping out! It's easy to volunteer: just click here for the Jump-a-thon online sign-up sheet. 

All students in grades 1-6 will be participating at different times of the day for 45 minutes. Jump Rope for Heart is an event conducted nationwide to educate students about the benefits of aerobic exercise and heart health, while raising funds to support the American Heart Association’s fight against heart disease and stroke. We are encouraging children to establish a healthy lifestyle by including physical activity in their daily lives. Risks for later heart disease are often set in childhood but can be reversed by being physically active, not smoking and eating well. Collection envelopes have been sent home during the first week in February with more information. Parents are invited to come and jump with their children on that day.  It is a healthy day for the whole family!
