Cultural Heritage Fair
The PGO is hosting a "Cultural Heritage Fair" on Wednesday, May 23. If you, your child(ren), or someone you know can share your/their talent, skills, or treasures with the Fort River community to showcase a cultural heritage, be it generationally inherited or just recently adopted, please contact Reiko Sono, via email (rsono@asianlan.umass.edu).
We welcome any genre, from music and dance to martial arts, craft, etc, at any skill levels. Please help us make this event interesting, educational, and, most importantly, FUN!

Thanks for International Fair
Thank you to all the people who made last week's International Fair a huge success! Delicious food, impressive performances, and great community!
A special thank you goes to Rebecca Fricke for coordinating this event and the performances.
Shout outs also go to: Liz Larson, Paula Mangiaratti, FR custodial staff, teachers who attended, Michele Spirko, the performers - the kids and the adults who helped, parents who came early and stayed late to help with set-up and clean-up.
And remember, we are looking for someone to step up and coordinate this event next year as Rebecca will be unable. Please contact Rebecca at rebfricke@gmail.com or Pam Rietkerk at pam.fortriver@gmail.com if you are interested.

Thank you for making the International Fair a success! The food was wonderful and the help was much appreciated. Big thanks to the room parents who put out the news to their families, I think the extra emails and phone calls helped spread the word. We had parents and kids willing to set up, keep things organized and clean up, not to mention the wonderful performances and the display tables! Hopefully this will be the first of many Fort River Internationals! If you have ideas on how to make this even bigger and better please sign up to help next year!
For those of you who left dishes and utensils behind - I took what I could find and those things (spoons, bowls, plates, pot holders) are now being held at the FR office.
