Are you concerned about how the Amherst Regional Public Schools have responded to COVID?

Following a presentation on the state of our schools during COVID, you can ask questions and make public comment

Speak directly with town officials on topics such as:
• Is remote learning hurting our children?
• Best practices for safely opening school buildings during COVID
• The financial impact to our schools due to COVID
• How to support our teachers and staff
• The role of parents and families during COVID

Biliteracy Programs

To celebrate the assets of multilingualism and to promote sustained English language, native language, heritage language, and global language learning, the Amherst Regional School District is excited to continue offering a language initiative called the Seal of Biliteracy. ARPS will be offering the official State Seal of Biliteracy to graduating seniors in spring of 2021, as well as Biliteracy Pathway Awards to students in grades 6 and 8.

The Seal of Biliteracy is awarded by the state department of education and local school districts to recognize students who attain proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading and writing), as well as one or more additional languages learned in school or another setting, as measured by standardized language assessments. This recognition will be included with students’ high school transcripts and diploma, and serves to certify attainment of a student’s biliteracy for employers and universities.

Library book pick-up

The Fort River Library is sending library books home to each of our students! Each student will have their own library book bag ready for pick up on Tuesday. 

 

PICK UP at school: Tuesday, December 15, 11:15-12:30pm and 3-4pm

 

Please come to the parking lot. Book bags will be on the front walk. You can pull up to your students’ grade level spot, where PGO volunteers will help you. Please wear masks and practice social distancing. If you cannot make it during the pick up times, we will work on sending the Fort River Library Book Bag home to your students.

Choose Love when wearing your mask! The PGO still has Fort River "We Choose Love" masks available for $10. The masks are two layers of blue material and fit all sizes. Process go to fund student supplies or mini grants for the classroom.
