Family Math & Pi Night: Count Me In! Wednesday, March 18 @ 6pm
Join us for a school wide celebration of math!! The annual 5th grade Pi Night is being held in concert with this Title 1 event. Come bid on your favorite pies to benefit the 5th grade field trip!
Donations of pies are needed for the 5th grade silent Pi auction. Please sign up here:
Bus transportation is available for families to and from the evening festivities. The pick up schedule is:
Mill Valley @ 5:30pm
Rolling Green @ 5:45pm
Colonial Village @ 5:50pm
Busses will transport families home after the event.
Crocker Farm PGO Coffee to meet School Committee candidates
A special invitation from the Crocker Farm PGO ...
All three candidates for School Committee will attend a special PGO coffee on Friday, March 27, from 8:50-9:50 am at Crocker Farm, in the CF community room. The Crocker Farm PGO has extended a special invitation for parents/guardians of children of any of the Amherst elementary schools to attend. The PGO coffee and our discussion with the candidates will focus on the elementary schools. This is a great opportunity for families to learn more about the candidates in an informal setting, & hear more about their ideas for our schools.

Race, Invisibility, and Hyper-visibility Discussion at the Jones

Race, Invisibility, and Hyper-visibility
Join us on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 7 pm in the Woodbury Room for a panel discussion entitled “Race, Invisibility and Hyper-visibility”, which will explore issues of race as experienced by people from our own community.
A multi-racial panel of local people will speak from their experiences growing up in, and/or living in, Amherst. They will share personal stories about being invisible and being hyper-visible, and will engage the audience in thinking about race in the Amherst area. This will be a rare opportunity to learn how others experience the racial situation in our community. The panelists include Janaya Collins, Amina Jordan, Victor Nuñez Ortiz, Josh Odam, and David Ke.

Amherst Transportation Plan Public Meetings
The Amherst Transportation Plan Task Force will be hosting two public meetings on Wednesday, April 8th, to present the Draft Transportation Plan at the Unitarian Universalist Society Meeting Room at 121 North Pleasant Street.
There will be two opportunities for people to attend:
5:00 to 5:30 p.m. for those who are in town at that time
7:00 to 8:00 p.m. for those who are able to attend a longer meeting.
There will be a presentation by the consultant: Nelson\Nygaard, and an opportunity for public comment afterward.
