Car Wash and Bake Sale THIS Saturday, May 2 from 9 am to Noon


Time to remove the Grime! Get rid of all that salt and sand left over from our epic winter ... Bring your vehicle to the 6th Grade Car wash this Saturday between 9 am and 12 pm! Be sure to bring extra cash as freshly made baked goods will be available ;-) Additionally the 5th Grade will host their annual Tag Sale featuring an excellent variety of clothing, games, puzzles, and household goods. Fun for all!!! 

HELP STILL WANTED from ALL 6th Grade families! Everyone needs to pitch in! 

We need Car Wash volunteers, Bake Sale volunteers, and donated items for the car wash. Kids will sign up for shifts at school.

We are also asking for ALL families to bring an item for a bake sale table (no sign up necessary). Finally, we STRONGLY encourage you to plan to get your car washed by our expert and well-supervised automotive detailers! Thanks in advance!

PGO Executive Board Call for Nominations

Every year, the PGO elects new officers - President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Blog Editor.  These officers serve on the executive committee and help define the role of the PGO in enhancing the opportunities for our Fort River students and community.  Each position is for a one year term.  Below are brief descriptions of each position and the contact information of the current officer.  If you are interested in standing for a position, please feel free to contact any of the below officers for more information.  You may nominate yourself or another.  Nominees will be contacted to confirm his or her willingness to stand for election.

 

President - Liz Larson, liz.fortriver@gmail.com,

Oversee the year-round activities of the PGO.  Act as liaison with district and school administrators and other PGOs.  Preside over executive committee and general meetings.  

 

Vice President - Becky Schneider, BeckyS.fortriver@gmail.com,

Assist the president in planning the PGO calendar of events, attending PGO meetings, making decisions with the executive board, and consulting with Fort River's principal. Work with staff on curriculum mini-grants.

 

Treasurer - Jessica Sproehnlejessica.fortriver@gmail.com,

Plan and report the budget, oversee PGO's bank account including checks and deposits for events and support programs.  QuickBooks knowledge/experience a plus but not necessary.

Responsible for taking minutes at PGO Executive Council and general meetings. 

 

Blog Editor - Michele Spirko, michelespirko@me.com,

Responsible for weekly updates of the PGO blog and occasional email campaigns to publicize school events. 

C-SPAN Bus at ARHS on Tuesday, May 12 at 3pm

The iconic C-SPAN Bus will visit Amherst Regional High School on Tuesday, May 12. The bus will arrive at 3pm and be parked in front of the high school until 4:30pm.  Award-wining student film maker, Ian Kaye , will be honored for his short work in the ARHS Auditorium from 3pm -3:30pm. All students, staff and families are invited to view the short film and tour the bus from 3:30pm-4:30pm

Math Night at ARHS on May 7, 6:30 - 8:00pm


Math Night at ARHS will be held May 7, 2015 from 6:30-8:00 pm in the ARHS Library. This program is intended for parents and guardians of students who will be entering the new math courses, Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 2, and Integrated Math 2 Honors.  More information will be coming soon from Math Department Chair, Jane Mudie.
