MLK Assembly on Friday, January 13

You are invited!

Fort River Staff are organizing an assembly to celebrate Martin Luther King Day. The assembly will be a follow up to the recent "We Choose Love" assembly. We hope you can join the Fort River community for this special community event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Friday, January 13 at 9:50 am.

The staff will be singing a Unity song at the assembly and families are invited to sing along with the CHORUS. You can find the beautiful lyrics below and watch the YouTUBE video for the tune. Thanks to Ms. Encarnacion for organizing and spreading the word!

"You are not alone"
Unity song

(Ms. Singer solo)
One voice, one song
One purpose, one breath
We journey on our way
Some lost, some torn
Still searching
We got to find our way

CHORUS
If you believe with me
We can do it together
We can take this world
And make it better
Standing side by side
Through this stormy weather
We can make a change
That will last forever

(Ms. G.B. solo)
No war, no hate, no hunger
It’s time to leave it all behind
One hope, one dream, one nation
We make it if we try

CHORUS
If you believe with me
We can do it together
We can take this world
And make it better
Standing side by side
Through  stormy weather
We can make a change
That will last forever

(Ms. Chamberlain and Thouli Mohasi duet)
Everybody sing with me
Love, love
Join in unity
Let your head up high
The voices will be heard
We are many different colors
But this is how we are brothers
Come on and sing with me
In perfect harmony

CHORUS
If you believe with me
We can do it together
We can take this world
And make it better
Standing side by side
Through stormy weather
We can make a change
That will last forever

Repeat CHORUS 2 more times.
