Volunteers Needed for Around the World at Fort River

The PGO is still looking for volunteers for a spring evening event celebrating our unique cultural identities. 

Around the World is a Fort River tradition, however it can't continue with volunteer support. Please consider chairing or serving on a small committee to organize this event. The evening generally includes potluck dishes from around the world and wonderful musical and dance performances. Last year students made posters celebrating their identities. We can't schedule this wonderful evening event for families until more volunteers offer to help. Reply to ftriver@gmail.com to volunteer. Thanks for considering!

Around the World at Fort River: Save the Date and Request for Committee Volunteers

Fort River Elementary has a rainbow of cultures and people that we like to celebrate at our Around the World at Fort River event. This year's celebration is February 15 from 6 - 8 pm.

The PGO is looking for several volunteers to help organize the evening including arranging performances, decorations, and promoting with posters, flyers and announcements.  If you would like to help organize the celebration, contact Deborah_christakos@yahoo.com, (413) 320-7700

Please join in by representing your own heritage or choose to explore a culture not your own.  Bring a dish to share and/or use the time over April break to create a poster or art display. (See poster samples above.  Posters can be as simple or complex as you wish.)

Save the Date! Around the World at Fort River on April 27

Join us for "Around the World at Fort River" on Thursday, April 27 from 6 - 8pm in the cafeteria when the Fort River community will celebrate our diverse cultures and countries of origin.

Come and share some food, a poster display, photos, costumes, artwork or crafts, dance, music, a story, or a performance, or simply come to enjoy our diversity.
