Annual Fund Drive Ongoing - Help Us Meet our Goals!

Thanks to everyone who gave so generously in November and December to our Annual Fund Drive! Many families across all grades have joined together to contribute financially to our wonderful school community. The Fort River staff utilizes your donations to enhance instruction offered to all students. The PGO Board is still receiving grant requests from teachers for special classroom materials, educational trips, and featured guest visits for the current school year. Every dollar helps - no amount is too small!

The PGO depends on donations to the Annual Fund to cover about 30% of the annual budget. If you are able to help, please use PayPal on the PGO blog or send a check into the Main Office made out to "Fort River PGO." Thanks!

Reminder: Fort River Directories Have Been Sent Home in the Backpacks

We hope you have received your family's copy of the directory. This year one directory has been provided (free!) for each family.  Extra copies can be purchased for $5 at the Fort River Main Office. 
Fort River Parent Council is grateful for your contributions to the Parent Council Annual Fund, which has enabled us to provide directories and yearbooks free of charge for a fifth year.  Your contributions also support many other Parent Council activities and events.

        If you have not yet contributed – it's not too late !

We are still hoping for contributions from ALL families.  Although the suggested donation is $25-$50 a child, contributions of any size are welcome; even a $1.00 donation helps us reach our goal of 100% family participation.  Checks (to Fort River Parent Council) or cash can be sent to the Parent Council mailbox in the main office.  Contributions can also be made online using the PayPal "Donate" button at the top right-hand column of this webpage.

Annual Fund: The Heat Is On!

New Way to Donate to Parent Council

Parent Council has finally arrived in the 21st century! As you can see, we have added a Paypal button to the top right-hand side of this webpage. It is now SUPER EASY for you to donate to the Parent Council Annual Fund. Just click on the button and and follow the directions to make a secure donation through our Paypal account. If you haven't already donated this year (and even if you have!) please take a moment to make your donation now. We still need your money! We still have lots of Parent Council-sponsored activities coming up this year, and our fund raising has been lagging well below last year's in terms of percentage of families who have participated and in sheer dollar amount. We would still love to have 100% participation of all Fort River families. Although we suggest an annual donation of $20 per child, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated (and tax-deductible!). If you prefer to remain in the 20th century and pay by check, please make it out to the Fort River Parent Council and send or bring it in to the Parent Council mailbox in the main office. THANKS!!

Annual Family Fund

This is our largest annual fundraiser, and thanks to all who have already donated! As of December, we are behind compared to last year, with only 40% parent participation to date. Our goal is 100% participation, or $7,000. Even donating $1 will help! The Family Fund supports:

• School Directory for each student
• Free Yearbook
• Staff Appreciation Luncheon
• Parent Council activities

The suggested donation is $20 per child, but contributions of any size are welcome. Contributions are tax deductible and anonymous. Please make checks payable to Fort River Parent Council and send to the Parent Council mailbox in the Main Office. Remember--All Parents Are Members of Parent Council! Every parent is automatically part of the Parent Council. Our goal is to unite parents, children, teachers and administration to make a better school. Here are the events and fundraisers the Parent Council manages throughout the year:

• New Family Welcome, Staff Welcome Back Day
• Fall Festival, Multicultural Fair, Family Fair, Field Day
• Grade-wide events, 6th Grade Graduation
• School Picture Day, Fort River T-shirts Sale, Book Fair
• Appreciation Lunch/Breakfast for Teachers, and Van/Bus Drivers

We also fund field trips, cultural & classroom events, books for the library, scholarships for children in need, Student Directory, Yearbook, and teacher support. Your help makes it possible!

We have now raised $4,450 from 124 of our 347 families (36% of families), and are still hoping for contributions from ALL families; even a $1.00 donation helps increase our goal of 100% family participation ! Although we suggest $20 a child, contributions of any size are welcome ¬ and all contributions are tax deductible (and anonymous).
