Fifth Grade Tag Sale this Saturday!

The Fifth graders at Fort River are organizing a Tag Sale to help fund their upcoming field trip to Lowell, MA.  Please help support their efforts by attending the tag sale this Saturday at Fort River School (by the basketball courts outside the gym) from 10 am- 2 pm. There will be games and face painting, so bring the whole family and please spread the word to family and friends!

Missing Winter Wear?


All Lost and Found items will be in the FR Lobby next week (4/30-5/4) and all unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the week. Please come check the table anytime to find that missing mitten or fleece jacket you didn't know was missing!! 

Science Night - Fri May 4

Fort River Science Night - THE HUMAN BODY !!
FRIDAY, May 4th 6:30-8 pm

Ever wonder … how it feels to perform CPR? … what happens to lungs when you exercise or have an asthma attack? … how to read X-Rays and plaster a cast? Come join us for an evening of learning about the human body and common ailments such as diabetes, asthma, celiac disease & allergies. We’ll have CPR mannequins to practice on, X-Rays to read, casts to plaster, and much, much more.

Presented by Healthcare Professionals in the Fort River community.

6th Grade Art/Architecture Show - May 9


Save the date for a very special ART Show featuring 6th Grade 3D Art & Architecture!  Drop in to the foyer of Fort River School on Wednesday, May 9th from 5:00pm-7:00pm and view the work of all Fort River 6th grade students:
  • traditional and contemporary barns by Peter Lamdin’s class
  • contemporary homes by Kaitlin Leaver’s class
  • downtown shops/stores by Roger Wallace’s class


Cultural Heritage Fair



The PGO is hosting a "Cultural Heritage Fair" on Wednesday, May 23.  If you, your child(ren), or someone you know can share your/their talent, skills, or treasures with the Fort River community to showcase a cultural heritage, be it generationally inherited or just recently adopted, please contact Reiko Sono, via email (rsono@asianlan.umass.edu).

We welcome any genre, from music and dance to martial arts, craft, etc, at any skill levels.  Please help us make this event interesting, educational, and, most importantly, FUN!

Weekend Activities - UMass Football Clinic and Soccerfest

UMASS Athletics FREE Football clinic for kids
UMASS Athletics Department is offering a FREE youth football clinic for all kids 12 and under!  This clinic is on Saturday, April 28th from 1:00-2:30pm at McGuirk Stadium, and will be run by the UMass Football team. The clinic will feature football drills and other fun athletic activities and will be preceded by a FREE autograph session with the team from 12:30-1:00pm.
Following the Sports Clinic there will be a UMass Spring Football Game, which will pair the Minutemen against a team of alumni players. The Spring Football Game is set to kick off at 4pm at McGuirk Stadium.

Soccerfest
Come on Saturday April 28th to the 10th anniversary of SoccerFest at UMass!  The ‘Off the Wall Games’ Fun Zone will open at 9:00 AM and features attractions such as Inflatables, Puma Skills Challenge, Home Run Derby, Off the Wall Games Scavenger Hunt, Kristian Rose Scholarship Dunk Tank, John Amaral Soccer Camp Clinic Sessions, and Bart’s Pie Eating Contest.   See www.soccerfest.org for more information.

Seussical




Starlight’s Youth Theatre proudly presents Seussical, the musical which brings Dr. Seuss’ imagination to life. Friday, April 27th 7 pm, Saturday, April 28th, 2pm & 7 pm, and Sunday, April 29th 2 pm at the South Hadley High School auditorium, Rt. 116 in South Hadley. Plan to come enjoy this delightful musical with an exuberant all-youth cast from all over the Valley.
