6th Grade Events Planning

Attention 6^th Grade Families:

Thanks for the wonderful turn-out for our parent/guardian meeting this week.  We have great interest in upcoming events and graduation planning!  At the meeting, we had sign-up forms available for the events listed below.

Sixth Grade Events

• Movie Night Fundraiser
• Raffle Fundraiser
• Camp Howe Trip
•  Sixth Grade Graduation
• Cafeteria Decoration:  Decide theme, coordinate with the donations committee; coordinate with Cafeteria staff and custodians for tables and set up
• Gym Decoration:  Decide theme, coordinate with the donations committee; decorate the gym the afternoon/evening before graduation
• 6^th Grade Gift:  Consult with Principal & specials teachers@ gift; solicit donations, purchase gift, present @ graduation
• Donations:  Solicit local businesses for donations for graduation, ie. flowers, cake, food for graduation and dance
• Food (Graduation and Dance):  Coordinate donations from parents from each 6^th grade class (“Please Bring It” sign-up); coordinate 5^th grade parent volunteers to set-up, serve and clean-up for graduation reception
• Misc:  Pick up of donations and supplies

Town Meeting Information

 

Please consider joining Town Meeting.  Amherst needs more parent voices (and votes) to help set our town's direction.  Town Meeting passes all our town's budgets - including the library and schools.  The commitment is just a handful of evenings per year.  It's a great way to learn what's going on in town, serve with your neighbors, as well as great public service.

The deadline for getting your name on the ballot as a candidate for Town Meeting is Tuesday, February 4 at 5:00pm. Sign up in the Town Clerk's office in Town Hall. You must be a registered voter in the Town of Amherst. All it takes is one signature.

Wednesday, January 22^nd, 7pm, Fort River library,

An informational meeting to discuss graduation and upcoming fundraisers.

We need your ideas and help on raising money to fund the 6^th grade field trips, graduation and the dance.

Please join the 6^th grade teachers and room parents as we plan out the rest of the year.  This is a parent/guardian only meeting.

Por Favor acompananos al 6to Grado maestra y Padres de Salones mientras planeamos salir el resto del ano. Esto es una reunion solo para  padres- Guardianes.
